The organisation of the European Basketball Tour - Cyprus 2011 is a significant honour for the island nation and the local basketball community. Six of the top European national teams will provide intensive games for the fans between 5th to 7th of August, in a preparation-tournament for the 2011 European Championship which starts in Lithuania on August 31

Greece, Italy, Israel, Russia, Poland and Bulgaria have included Cyprus in their preparation schedule for the European Championship and will join the European Basketball Tour - Cyprus 2011, one of two tournaments with the same brand name. The sister event of the Cyprus tournament, the European Basketball Tour - Israel 2011, will take place between 22 and 24 August in Nokia Arena in Tel Aviv with the participation of Israel, Russia and Poland.

The European Basketball Tour - Cyprus 2011 is the largest basketball tournament preparation for the European Championship to be held this year and will provide an opportunity for the Cypriot public and visitors from abroad to enjoy first hand the Greek National Team.

Moreover, powerfull countries, basketball wise, like Russia, Italy and Israel, will be coming to Cyprus, as well as emerging powers like Poland and Bulgaria, with all their stars from the NBA and Euroleague.
