European Saxophone Ensemble Concert

The Cyprus Saxophone Association, in collaboration with Nicosia Municipality, invites you to a unique concert with the European Saxophone Ensemble, at Famagusta Gate in Nicosia, on 26th November 2010, at 20:00.

This concert is the first of a series of concerts the ensemble will be giving this winter in another nine European cities. Twelve young and talented saxophonists, each from a different European country, which have been chosen based on auditions, are performing in the ensemble. ESE was created in 2008 and comprises of six instruments of the extended saxophone family – the sopranino, the soprano, the alto, the tenor, the baritone and the bass saxophone. This will be the first time that Cypriot audiences will be given the opportunity to listen to these instruments in a live performance. At the concert, the ensemble will perform five pieces of young professional composers from Belgium, Poland, Germany and Bulgaria, commissioned by the ensemble. The ESE holds the title of Cultural Ambassador of the European Union for 2010. The concert is a MET-X production and is being possible with the financial support of the Culture Programme of the European Union.

The concert in Nicosia will start with a performance of the saxophone octet of the Cyprus Saxophone Association.
