3rd Arts Festival Faneromeni 18
As was the case in the previous two years, so too this year Nicosia’s largest courtyard, that of the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation, opens its gates every Thursday from June to September to welcome everyone wishing to enjoy feature films, musical routes, music and theatre performances and strong emotions.
A multidimensional festival with local and international performances at the Foundation’s open-air amphitheatre, it aspires to become the city’s most vibrant cell.
By way of a unique amalgamation of arts, seasons and artists from different backgrounds, complemented by the rich history of the Cultural Foundation, guests will enjoy a series of events addressed to all ages and spanning all tastes, with free admission.
Primarily aiming at propagating art, more particularly contemporary artistic creation, the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation has provided artists and creators with a platform to send out their messages, and jointly work with other artists in exchanging views and ideas and, in doing so, breaking down borders and restrictions between languages, arts and genres.
At the same time, Fameromeni 18 proposes performances that bring out various aspects of the history of Cyprus and investigates the island’s interaction with the surrounding European area, planning a celebration to last for four months at the centre of old Nicosia.
