Valerie Brennan is an Irish artist living in Cyprus. She has exhibited widely internationally including solo exhibitions in Mexico City, with The Giampietro Gallery in Connecticut and with the Apocalypse Gallery in Nicosia. Most recently her work has been exhibited in London, Amsterdam, at Soil Gallery in Seattle, at SCOPE New York and at Parallel Art Space, Brooklyn. Having recently returned to live in Nicosia the paintings in Farwell Aquarius are infused with the light of Cyprus. Drawing from a deeply personal vernacular and embracing a process that values joy and unpredictability, her paintings are lush, subjective, evocative and adventurous. Brennan’s work is a potent mix of raw energy and pure emotion but most of all it is filled with the possibilities of play.
