Feeling... by Anastasios Motitis
Through emotions, direct contact with space, people, nature around us and friction with time, we exist, think, imagine and create. In a painting, colour, form, light, design as well as technique are tools an artist uses to express the above characteristics. An important factor in this procedure, from the beginning till the end, is the continued “feel” of the work. Man without “feeling” cannot act, nor be “true”. Painting without “feeling” cannot work, nor be perceived as “true” art.
Anastasios Motitis was born in 1966, Karavas, Kyrenia. Painting and fine art in general have always been an important point of reference in his life. Parallel to his studies in Graphic Design, he has also worked as an Illustrator and Caricaturist as well as studying Byzantine Art and Iconography. Since 1994 he keeps a painting studio. This is his eighth one man show and has participated in many group exhibitions.
