Film Music Piano Recital
Could you imagine cinema without music? Would the feelings of a drama, comedy or horror film be the same without the element of music? Most of the times we believe that what makes a movie special is the screenplay, the director, the actors and we always forget the music. For this reason, Marianna Georgiou is presenting a piano recital dedicated to popular film soundtracks, on Friday, May 20 at 8pm.
The first part will be dedicated to the American composer, conductor and pianist John Williams with works such as Harry Potter and Star Wars. In a career spanning over six decades, Williams has composed some of the most popular and recognizable film scores in cinematic history. With 50 Oscar nominations, Williams currently holds the record for the most Oscar nominations for a living person, and is the second most nominated person in Academy Awards history. He won four Oscars for Best Original Score and one for Best Scoring: Adaptation and Original Song Score. In the second part of the concert other popular film soundtracks will be presented, including themes from the Pirates of the Caribbean, Requiem for a Dream, Forest Gump, Titanic and many more.
