Flute & Piano Recital
Savvas Christodoulou (flute) – Annini Tsiouti (piano)
The "Kastelliotissa" medieval hall hosts with great pleasure a unique concert dedicated to the Austrian composer Franz Schubert and the Greek composer Fanis Zachopoulos.
On the one hand a brilliant representative of the School of Vienna F. Schubert during the 19th century when flute had lost some of its popularity which it enjoyed in the previous century, enriched the repertoire with a masterpiece called Trockne Blumen.
On the other hand a young and very talented Greek composer with unique ideas. Born and raised in Athens in 1990 shows his talent very early when entering the Academy of Music in Utrecht. Some of his compositions have been presented by world-renowned performers in major concert halls. His special idea to compose three interludes based on the poem by Constantine Kavafys "Since nine o’clock" has won raves from Dutch musical reviewers. Two excellent Cypriot soloists will perform in a special musical acquaintance, these two compositions as well as the first movement of the Sonata per arpeggione by F. Schubert along with the Suite for flute and piano by Zachopoulos, a piece which was composed especially for this concert.
Savvas Christodoulou was born in Limassol and he started having flute lessons at a young age.
