Franz Schubert. Complete Impromptus for piano
Schubert wrote his eight Impromptus in 1827, one year before he died. Although composed for the then burgeoning amateur market, quite a few of the pieces require a virtuoso technique if they are to be rendered correctly. The seemingly easier ones, need a great level of control and subtleness of texture to reveal their true beauty, which lies in the lyricism of their melody and the surprise of the harmony. The French-Luxembourgish pianist Nicolas Leydenbach offers music lovers in Cyprus a rare chance to enjoy the complete collection of these charming salon pieces in a singular interpretation inspired by German romanticism combined with the bel canto pianistic technique of Vladimir Horowitz.
