The lunar phase in which the Moon is on the opposite side of the Earth from the Sun in called Full Moon.
For thousand years people have been celebrating the Full Moon, associating it-or symbolising it- either with a God or a Goddess. Egyptians, Greeks, Romans, Mesopotamians, Asians, Africans and native South Americans are among those who created myths, traditions and legends around it.
Inspired by this global diversity in honouring the Full Moon we invite you all to this year’s Summer Full Moon Gathering*.

North American fishing tribes called Augusts’ Full moon the sturgeon moon since the species was abundant during this month. It's also been called the green corn moon, the grain moon, and the red moon for the reddish hue it often takes on in the summer haze.
