Gaia - Arts and Moods Workshops
Gaia, one of the primal deities in the Greek mythology, was the great mother of all, creator and giver of birth to the earth and all the Universe.
While studying various civilizations from different parts of the world; within the process of choosing this years multicultural project for the Arts and Moods Workshops, we have found some archetypal forms, appearing perennial and intercultural. One of the most important ones is the female figure which in each civilization is being honored for its different roles in life, religion and art. The old woman, the caring mother, the loyal wife, the adorable daughter, each and every one of them have their own significance in life and are different symbolic figures for every country. Feeling the need to honor women and the female status, we have chosen this topic for a transnational cooperation between schools and children on an international level. Each group processes in an artistic way, the female entity in their society, as well as in other diverse cultures.
The first exhibition will take place on Saturday November 1st, at 10.10 Hall.
We host artwork of students who participated in this special project from Mexico, Slovenia, Argentina and Honduras.
The exhibition will travel around these countries.
The project is still open until June 2015.
