Go Back to Hiding in the Shadows
The Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation is proud to present the audiovisual performance ‘Go Back to Hiding in the Shadows’. The event will take place on Thursday, 27 June 2019 at 9pm as part of the FANEROMENI19 festival.
The raw material of the work consists of deconstructed human voices, physical instruments and field recordings diffused in an imagery of photographs, videos and processed visual material.
The material was collected in the Troodos mountain range to create a digital granary of processed instrumental and electronic sounds, field recordings, rock formations, plants, animals and swarms unfolds a narrative of becoming.
Pandelis Diamantides
Pandelis Diamantides (1978) is an audiovisual artist who splits his time between Cyprus and the Netherlands. For his musical productions and audiovisual performances he leverages specialised digital technology to generate complex dual landscapes, where intricate sound compositions and electronic beats are amplified by multi-tiered visual effects, offering a truly immersive experience. Diamantides will be personally presenting his work under his stage name Microseq.
Through partnerships with various artists, including the creative sound and multimedia technologist Emmanuel Flores Elias, choreographer Lia Haraki, and visual artist Matthias Oostrik, he has composed and presented works for the modern dance scene, theatre and other interactive audiovisual applications.
Mathieu Le Sourd
Ο Mathieu Le Sourd (Maotik), a digital artist from Montreal, focuses his work on creating immersive multimedia environments and generative visuals. His work has recently been presented in various festivals around the world, such as Live Cinema in Rio, Plums Festival in Moscow, Visiones in Lima, Mutek Festival (Montreal, Mexico City, Barcelona and Bogota) as well as at the British Film Institute in London.
As lead of Moment Factory’s interactive team in 2011, Le Sourd produced several large-scale projects including a multimedia experience in the new terminal at Los Angeles International Airport as well as the visuals for Nine Inch Nails’ world tour. In 2013, he produced the critically-acclaimed immersive multimedia performance DROMOS, which was presented at the SATosphere in Montreal as part of Mutek festival.
Always in search of new challenges, Le Sourd designs his own visual tools; generating animations from algorithms and creating 3D worlds to transform perceptions of space.

On the evenings of the “FANEROMENI19” events, the museums of the Foundation and the exhibition “1940 | Faces and Images. Cyprus – Greece” of the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation will remain open until midnight.
