Go game Workshop
"Cyprus Go Association" presents "Go", one of the most popular Japanese board games.
Go, is an ancient board game for two players that is noted for being rich in strategy despite its simple rules.
The game is played by two players who alternately place black and white stones on the vacant intersections of a grid of 19×19 lines. Once placed on the board, stones cannot be moved elsewhere, unless they are surrounded and captured by the opponent's stones. The object of the game is to control (surround) a larger portion of the board than the opponent.
The Embassy of Japan in Athens is organizing a series of cultural events this month, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Cyprus-Japan Friendly ties, following Japan’s recognition of the Republic of Cyprus on the 16th of August 1960.This “Japan Week in Cyprus” will be held in Nicosia, in cooperation with the University of Nicosia and the Honorary Consul General of Japan in Limassol.
