Technopolis 20 invite you to meet the well-known German organist and improviser, Vice Dean and Professor at Mozarteum University, Hannfried Lucke, on Friday, 18th of October 2019 at 7:30pm.

In a discussion setting, you will have the opportunity to get to know the professional but also the person behind Hannfried Lucke. How was his music career as a world famous Organist? As Vice Dean and Professor for Organ and Improvisation at Mozarteum University in Salzburg he will also talk about the institution itself and of course a further discussion will take place, regarding classical music and classical interpretation.

The discussion will be interrupted by free improvisations of Hannfried Lucke inspired by classical melodies or popular songs which could even be proposed by the audience.

A few words about Hannfried Lucke
Hannfried Lucke was born in Freiburg im Breisgau. He received his musical training at the University of Music in Freiburg, the Mozarteum University in Salzburg and the Geneva Conservatory. He received a scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service and was awarded first prize at the Geneva Conservatory, as well as the prize from the Austrian Minister of Science and Research.
He has given concerts and radio broadcasts in many European countries, as well as in the USA, Canada, Japan, Hong Kong and Australia. He has played numerous important organs and appeared at leading festivals, including the Wiener Festwochen, the Salzburg Festival, the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival, the Royal Festival Hall in London, the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, St Patrick’s Cathedral in New York, the Carmel Bach Festival, the Tanglewood Music Festival, the Suntory Hall in Tokyo and the Kyoto Concert Hall. His recordings released on labels such as Thorofon, Mitra, Carus and Coviello Classics, have received various international awards.
In 1997 he was appointed professor of organ at the University of Music and the Performing Arts in Graz and in 2000 was appointed to the same position at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg. From 2016 to 2017 he also taught as a substitute professor at the University of Music in Freiburg. He is a member of the board of trustees of the Mozarteum Foundation in Salzburg. In 2018 he was appointed deputy chancellor for art at the Mozarteum University.
Hannfried Lucke regularly gives masterclasses in Europe, the USA and Japan and is a jury member for various international organ competitions.
