Haris Lambrakis Quartet - Vista

Haris Lambrakis Quartet brings together four musicians with common inspirations and background, but also with a notable career as soloists. A starting point for the members of the quartet was the modal jazz of the 1960s and 1970s, the free improvisation and the traditional music of the greater Eastern Mediterranean region. The sound of the band is based mainly on improvisation, communication and interaction between the four musicians, while evident is the influence of John Coltrane and Bill Evans, as well as the inspiration from western harmonies, rhythms and melodies.

The quartet was formed in 2006 and has performed since at important festivals in Greece and abroad. This year the four artists come to Axiothea to present a concert based on their first CD entitled “Thea” (“Vista”), which circulated in February and has received a warm welcome by the critics.
