Hero-isms

Centre of Performing Arts MITOS participates with a two-year artistic project Hero-isms in the official program of the European Capital of Culture Paphos 2017. Hero-isms will be completed in collaboration with Grotowski Insitute Poland, in the frame of Wroclaw 2016.

The project’s activities will start with a site-specific video installation in Paphos based on the significant characteristics of Mouttalos area, continues with artistic residency at the Grotowski Institute in Poland, music presentation from the ancient tragedy The Persians by Aeschylus in Wroclaw, Paphos and Limassol in 2016 and with the full performance in 2017. The project aims to enhance intercultural sensitivity through empathy and understanding for the Other. The activities of Hero-isms encourage mobility, exchange and social dialogue through the artistic creation.

First official presentation of the book «Songs of My Neighbours», a Culture European Theatre Program, which was completed in the period 2013-2015.

me@t: Parallel event of Hero-isms presentation

me@t is a video installation- performance, where image and sound will carry the memory and life of four immigrants that live and work in Cyprus. The performance negotiates subjects as: Place, Displacement, Memory, through the personal stories of: Rajan from India, Sahand from Iran, Janakie from Sri Lanka and Lukasz from Poland.
