Humour in Music
Classical music is not always meant to be serious! In fact, much of its perceived “seriousness”, has more to do with the established performing rituals of the concert hall rather than with the content of the music itself. Besides a sizeable dose of good-humour and merry mood, classical music can quite often be – surprisingly so to some perhaps – funny and comical in all sorts of ways! With an evening of opera duets, Greek operetta and instrumental works, the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra, its maestro and distinguished guest singers opt to “break the ice” and provoke gales of laughter in the auditorium! You are warned that you may leave the theatre thoroughly entertained! Conveniently scheduled as an early evening concert, this is a concert for all!
