Ibrahim Ferrer Jr.

Ibrahim Ferrer Jr. and his band, in the framework of their tour in Europe, will give a remarkable concert in Cyprus, at Rialto Theatre.

Ibrahim Ferrer Jr. is the son of Cuban singer of the same name, known worldwide for being the protagonist of the film "Buena Vista Social Club". Ibrahim Ferrer, after a successful and internationally acclaimed career, passed away at 2005. Today his son follows his steps, singing Cuban music, with the same respect to the public as his father.

Ibra has participated in the album "Ibrahim Ferrer" (winner of a Grammy) and the album "Omara Portuondo". He has also played with Cuban bands like Afro Cuban All Star, Los Bocucos, Ochungueres, Orquesta Los Kuaceres and Conjunto de Estrellas Cubanas, among others.

In 1999, he moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he lives up today. There, he expanded his solo career by playing in big festivals like "Cosquin" and "Codigo Pais" and making tours throughout the country. His music is a bridge between Cuba and Argentina. His charisma and his interpretations of Cuban classics and songs, composed with his musicians, including the excellent Cuban pianist Raul Monteagudo, made him a popular singer, acclaimed by the public in several continents.

He recorded two albums as a soloist: "Son para Ti" (2002) and "Al son de un Homenaje" (winner of the prestigious Gardel awards in 2008) and he appeared in big International Festival like us: Latino americando (Ιtaly), Jazz Parade (Switzerland), Muhu Music Festival (Estonia), Festival de Biarritz, Latinossegor, and Les Estivales du canal (France), Musiqat (Tunisia) and at the 1st Cuba Festival in Greece at June 2012.
