Larnaca celebrates the International Children's Book Day
The Municipality of Larnaca, in collaboration with the Youth Foundation, Larnaca and the Cyprus Association of Children’s and Young Adults’ Books celebrates the International Children’s Book Day, Monday, April 2, 2012 at 7:00 pm ., at the Youth Foundation (St. Lazarus 81-83), in Larnaca.
Within the framework of the event will highlight the work of famous writer Kika Pulcheriou, who was recently honoured with the National Children's Literature Award and is among the most influential writers of contemporary Cypriot children and youth literature.
The program will include:
- A theatrical play dramatized excerpts from the award-winning book by Kika Pulcheriou “Xedeta Kordonia” by the Theatre Antidote’s youth group, directed by Xenakis Kyriakides
- Reading of the message of International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY)
- Reference to the importance of International Children’s Book Day, etc.
At the venue there will be an exhibition of Cypriot books and children's literature and also an exhibition of posters and other material for the International Children’s Book Day.
