International Short Film Festival of Cyprus 2013

The International Short Film Festival of Cyprus, the official International short film competition of Cyprus returns at the RIALTO Theatre. The Festival will take place from the 12th to the 18th October 2013 and it is co-organized by the Cultural Services of the Ministry of Education and Culture and the RIALTO Theatre.

The International Short Film Festival of Cyprus presents and rewards the work of talented young people, and established filmmakers and promotes fiction, documentary, experimental and animated films. The Festival showcases short film as a distinct genre filmmaking and expression, offering the audience a unique opportunity to enjoy some of the best international and domestic film productions.

At this year's festival takes place on the 12th movies Cypriot filmmakers who will compete simultaneously in the national competition section.

In addition, the 3rd International Short Film Festival of Cyprus, through exciting and comprehensive parallel programs, becomes a platform for inspiring short cinematic experiences and for creative dialogue with directors and film professionals from Cyprus and abroad. The programme includes a line up of film screenings and a Master Class with title ‘Successful Crowd Funding for Shorts΄.

• Romain Gavras: Showcase of cutting edge music videos (Δευτέρα 14/10)
• Tabor Short Film Festival: Selected Program of Croatian Shorts (Τρίτη 15/10)
• Kick-off Shorts: Football in Short Films (Τετάρτη 16/10)
• Amaze Me: Surprise competition program judged by TEPAK students (Πέμπτη 17/10)

The selection of films and programming of screenings and parallel events, is undertaken by the artistic committee consisting of film directors Alexia Roider and Ioakim Mylonas.

International Jury
The three member international jury consists of the following film professionals and directors:

• Lars Henrik Gass (Presidents of the Jury) – Director and Author, Co-editor of Provokation der Wirklichkeit. Das Oberhausener Manifest und die Folgen (2012) and author of Film und Kunst nach dem Kino (2012).

• Manuela Cernat - Senior Researcher at the Institute for History of Art of the Romanian Academy.

• Nancy Bishop - Casting Director, guest lecturer and founder of the Acting For Film Program, at the Prague Film School.
