Interpreting Ramon Llull
Art exhibition entitled "Interpreting Ramon Llull – The friend and lover".
The famous symbol of Catalan spiritual culture Ramon Llull (1232-1315), born in Majorca, becomes the inspiration for 66 contemporary painters from the Balearic Islands. Each of them interprets a verse from the book “Book of the Friend and Lover”, which comprises of a verse for each day of the year. Each artist interprets the verse corresponding to their birthday, with the exhibition becoming a collection of illustrated moral lessons and metaphors.
The exhibition will be inaugurated on Wednesday 12 January, at 19:30.
Organised by the Embassy of Spain in cooperation with the Ramon Llull Institute, the Presidency of the Balearic Islands, the Council of Majorca, and the CAM Caja Mediterraneo Savings Bank.
