Into the garden
Exhibition by Giulia Bongini Nacouzi
I was born in Rome, Italy shortly after the death of my grandfather Giulio Bongini who was a stage designer. I always felt him very close to me; maybe this explains my interest in art since a very young age. I never attended art school, but I had very good teachers, like my father and some very dear artist friends.
The exhibition “Into the Garden” – my first solo one – is about nature and trees in particular. Trees are one of my favourite subjects; I often see them with human-like features, big wooden bodies whose actions are frozen in time.
The works include a variety of techniques: ink, watercolour, acrylic, pastel, and pottery.
