Jazz - Aleas
Aleas has been formed since its creation in 2001 by four professional musicians trained at the Toulouse Music Hall School: Cyril Laurent (saxophone), Stéphane Guionie (guitar), Mathieu Jardat (bass, double bass), and Pierre Pollet (drum, steel drum). Their original repertoire, largely influenced by their shared passion for oriental music and African sounds, offers a warm and colourful musical universe bringing jazz to various directions.
Their first album “Aleas Quartet” which was released in 2005 is a blend of original compositions and arrangements from Om Kalthoum and Rabih Abou Khalil amongst others. In 2007, the band released an album called “Oriental Jazz”, a live performance with obvious Balkan and Orient influences. After gathering some experiences abroad, notably in Istanbul, the sultanate of Oman, and Andalucia, Aleas recorded in 2010 an album entitled “La Danse du Koala” (The Dance of the Koala), a production with a powerful mix of energy close to trance and subtle Mediterranean accents.
