Forbidden Games (Jeux interdits)
The second of two film nights in the yard of Cynema Xanthis 3, in collaboration with the French Institute Nicosia and the Cultural Workshop Ayion Omologiton is a showing of the legendary film Forbidden Games (French: Jeux interdits), a 1952 French war drama film directed by René Clément and based on François Boyer's novel Jeux Interdits.
The film won the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival, a Special Award as Best Foreign Language Film in the United States, and a Best Film from any Source at the British Academy Film Awards.

A timeless evocation of childhood innocence corrupted, René Clément’s Forbidden Games tells the story of a young girl orphaned by war and the farm boy she joins in a fantastical world of macabre play. At once mythical and heartbreakingly real, this unique film features astonishing performances by its child stars and was honored with a special foreign language film Academy Award in 1952.
