The Gypsy Model
My latest book, The Gypsy model, is a piece of faction based on 19C painter Frederick Sandys and his Gypsy Model Keomi Gray. Family myth has it that Keomi was a relation of Bill’s great grandmother Coralina Gray.

What happens when an artist in search of a muse, picks up a beautiful young Gypsy girl at a Norfolk fair? Intrigued by her potential will he play Pygmalion moulding her into his own thing? Fred makes matters worse when he takes up again with the actress who is to remain with him for the rest of his life. Now he has two formidable women on his hands and his life spirals out of control. Has the gypsy model become an avenging angel of his own creation? The Romany curse, that was uttered at that dinner party cannot, after all, be unsaid.

Kristina Poliakova is of Russian origin & has lived & worked as an artist in Limassol since 2006. Kristina categorizes her work as Modern Symbolism in a romantic style. Kristina uses 3 core symbols: women, roses & butterflies. Kristina says "a woman is as fair as a blooming rose & a rose is symbolic of love. The butterfly represents creativity, ideas & inner freedom.

Karima Ben Otman is of Jordanian/Libyan origin & has been living & working as a full time artist in Limassol since 2006.

Her style combines both eastern and western influences. Most of her work is derived from her imagination and is both decorative and symbolic. She is inspired by the human being, emotions and behavior. Her bright colors and strong outline distinguish her work and make it very recognizable. Best known for her fish paintings which are a good example of her vivid imagination and sense of humor.
