Ketta Ioannidou - Dear Darkness
The Centre of Contemporary Art Diatopos presents the new artistic proposal of Ketta Ioannidou entitled «Dear Darkness».
Located somewhere between realism and abstraction, the painting work of Ketta Ioannidou is affected by the natural world while providing an escape from it. The pictures describe idealized habitats, and the movement and interaction of forms in space, while the content is often an excuse for exploring the very nature of the paint.
Ketta Ioannidou was born in Nicosia. She lives in New York and Nicosia. She graduated from the Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design and received her Master of Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts in New York. She has represented Cyprus at the Cairo Bienale in 2003, the Alexandria Biennale in 2007 and the Rome Biennale for young artists. She has exhibited her works in several solo and group exhibitions in Cyprus and the United States.
The exhibition will open on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at 8.00 pm.
