Kids University - Summer 2010
«The Young Architects Strike Again – Building a new City»
In the framework of the Kids University, the ARTos is organizing the already established crash course for kids 7-13 years old on June 21st until July 2nd, 2010. An invitation to a magical journey of knowledge, adventure and creation.
This original kid’s workshop for young Scientists-Creators under the title «The Young Architects Strike Again: Building a New City» gives the kids a unique opportunity for two whole weeks to open sail in the land of art and science. Through the various activities, the kids will have the opportunity to build a new city, to create by using their common sense and their individual aesthetics, but also the knowledge gained during the workshop and finally (but perhaps most importantly) the energy of group work.
Through the educational multidisciplinary activities, the kids will be called upon to create in the context of the arts and sciences, in workshops entitled:
- Cities: How were they like in the past, what do they look like now and what do we want them to be in the future?
- Urban Planning / Architecture: From Design to Construction, its all about the people.
- Construction: So, how exactly do we build a new city?
- Eco-consciousness: Paint the town Green: Cities and Greenery.
- Theatre: Stories of our city.
- Animation: «The Invisible side of the city», the movie.
- Physics / Experiments / Energy: What makes a city work? Games and creativity.
