Foundation Film Festival "La-Dee-Dah Nights"
With the aim of promoting and supporting multiculturalism in Cyprus, the Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation, with the collaboration of the Limassol Municipality, presents “La-Dee-Dah Nights”, the first edition of the Foundation Film Festival (FFF).
A three-day event taking place between the 8-10 July at the big dock of Molos, and organised under the auspices of the First Lady Ms Andri Anastasiades, that will give the opportunity to all residents of Cyprus, and especially Limassol, to get together and enjoy feel-good movies from the Russian, English and Greek Cinema with a live music programme by local artists; all set against the magical backdrop of Limassol’s glistening sea.
On July 8th, the audience will have the opportunity to enjoy famous arias by soprano Ellie Aloneftis accompanied by pianist Nicholas Melis, to be followed by the Russian movie ‘The cranes are flying’ or ‘Letytat Zhuravli’ (1957). The 9th of July will see the screening of the British cult film ‘Monty Python and the Holy Grail’ (1975), a film that combines adventure, comedy and fantasy. The Sandy Brour band will create a unique atmosphere, taking us on a journey back in time to the rhythms of bossa nova, swing, tango, bolero, blues and waltz. The final day will feature the sweet melodies of Manos Hadjidakis, performed by the talented trio of Evangelos Christodoulou, Loizos Pafitis and Katerina Andreou, and will conclude with the screening of the unforgettable Greek classic ‘Never on Sunday’ (1960).
Admission to the festival is free. Snacks and drinks will be offered at low prices and donations will be accepted, all in support of the Cyprus Anticancer Society’s Evagorion Palliative Day Care Centre in Limassol.
