La Fille mal Gardée - The Royal Ballet Live
Some of Frederick Ashton’s most brilliant choreography, depicting the youthful passion of Lise and her lover, Colas, expressed in folk dances, dancing chickens, grouchy guardians and halfwit suitors. The ballet was a resounding success on its premiere in 1960 and has remained ever since a firm favourite in the repertory of the Royal Opera House, from which it is broadcasted.
