The Hate (La Haine)
The film depicts the contrast of the lives of young immigrants who live in the socially fragmented suburbs (banlieues) of Paris with the wealthy centre of the "city of light." Three young immigrants seek revenge for their friend who was a victim of police violence. Over the span of 24 powerful hours, they wander aimlessly in the slums of Paris with a stolen gun in their hands.
