Last Night a Poet Saved My Life & DJ Set
Poets on the decks, Reverends of a mystical service.
Amongst books, handwritten notes, typewriters and an inconspicuous bar, a lyrically-charged musical atmosphere.
The Priestess: Poet Eftychia Panayiotou
Lady-in-Waiting: Poet Marilena Zackheos
The Theme: “This is Not a Love Song”
The Mood: Erotic Noir
In this mystical sacrament, poetry and music are brought together in a unique marriage, narrating love stories, which will insist they are not in fact about love at all and that they will never ever be your average love songs.
Anyone interested in partaking in a live reading of published poets’ work in the course of the evening should send their “erotic noir” pieces in a Word document to [email protected] by 10 February 2016. Decisions will be based on select poems that best relate to the mood and direction of the evening.
Following the success of the event series titled Last Night a Poet Saved My Life, which has been taking place on a monthly basis in Athens and is the brain-child of poet and translator Yiannis Antiochou, Eftychia Panayiotou repeats Night No. 2 in her hometown, Nicosia.
Her latest book Dancers will be available for purchase at the venue.
