A Letter to Cyprus
Chiaki Kamikawa Contemporary Art Gallery presents an international group exhibition of letters “A Letter to Cyprus.” The exhibition will be open on 18th May and will run until 1 June.
For this open-call exhibition, artists were asked to send a letter as art work which is addressed to “Cyprus”.
In the proposal of the exhibition, the interpretation of “Cyprus” as a subject matter of the letter was open to each artist therefore it can be interpreted as a country, history, an imaginative place, person or anything that symbolises Cyprus for each artist. There was no limitation for the use of material and no obligation for writing text.
The letters have been sent to the gallery from north and central America, Europe and Asia.
