Limassol Municipality Dance Center: move... meant
Students, guest choreographers and guest dancers come together share to share with us their perspective on dance…ranging in technique and style from Paquita, a Spanish flavoured display of balletic vocabulary to Israeli choreographer Barak Marshall’s Monger. The Centre’s former student Panos Malactos (Rambert School of Contemporary Dance and Ballet) gives us his reading on war with Sorrowful danced by freelance performer Ombline Noyer and returning student Sotiris Panagoulias(Royal Conservatory of Scotland) who will also perform in Artistic Director Mr Lambrous’ new arrangement of Concerto. Third year student Samantha Moysi will be contributing a short new dance, her second since last year.
The youngest students ages 9 and above will interpret a rather unique view on the topic of the ballet Swan Lake…revisited.
And of course two exquisite dancers from a major European Ballet Company will show us how Ballet is so very alive and well!
In its 9th year of operation the LMDC offers students a place to study dance with emphasis on technique, repertoire and one on one advice on how best to prepare for a career in the professional world. With students dancing or training in major dance schools in Athens, London, New York, Glasgow, Copenhagen and Stockholm, we feel that talented students can find their feet as well as face the realities of becoming a dancer in a safe and professional environment.
