Live Jazz continues every Wednesday in September with some of the best Jazz musicians on the island. And for the month of September, the Quartet is joined for the first time by four female vocalists of the local Jazz scene!

* NIHAN GÖRGÜ * (Wed 9 Sept)
Nihan Görgü was born in Nicosia in 1984. She began private piano lessons from the age of 10 and later studied classical piano at the Eastern Mediterranean University. She took vocal coaching lessons from Sarah Fenwick, and has been a regular participant as a jazz singer in bi-communal jazz workshops since 2008.

* IOANNA TROULLIDOU * (Wed 16 Sept)
Ioanna Troullidou studied music at the University of Pécs in Hungary where she attained an M.A. in music teaching and choir conducting, and jazz singing/performance in Bornemissza Maria singing school. Since returning to Cyprus in 2007, she has been a teacher at the European University Cyprus and an active singer in the Cyprus Jazz scene, lately with her own Ioanna Troulldou Quintet. Her album ‘Get Out of Town’ (2012) is a collection of jazz standards as arranged by saxophonist/composer Chris Byars. Her performance is characterized by skillful song interpretation and phrasing, in combination with her warm alto voice timbre.

* SARAH FENWICK * (Wed 23 Sept)
Gifted jazz and blues singer Sarah Fenwick has released four hit CDs and lives on the island of Cyprus. She is half-Cypriot and half-English, and recognised as one of the country's original Jazz voices.

* ALICE AYVAZIAN * (Wed 30 Sept)
Alice Ayvazian received her Bachelor's in Vocal Performance from Berklee College of Music, Boston, and a M.A. in Educational Leadership from Saint Mary's University. In the U.S. she participated as lead and backing vocalist in numerous studio projects as well as performances and concerts. She has also performed in various venues in Cyprus. She is currently instructor of Jazz Voice at the Department of Music and Dance at the University of Nicosia, and the Director of the University's Jazz Choir.
