ABOUT THE MUSICIANS:
IRENAEOS KOULOURAS | double bass
Irenaeos Koulouras has been performing in Cyprus and abroad for over 20 years, alongside international greats such as Arturo Sandoval (trumpet), Ofer Ganor (guitar) and Avishai Cohen (trumpet). He is also a student of Ron Carter, an American bassist regarded as one of the most important in Jazz history.
STELIOS XYDIAS | drums
Stelios Xydias received his B.A in Music (jazz drums) from Codarts - Rotterdam Conservatory. During his studies he won the Nicolas Economou Grand for year 2009. He is an important member of the music scene who has also performed in many stages across Europe with respected musicians such as Alexia Vassiliou and Gilad Atzmon – a key member of the British Jazz scene. Stelios has also performed on various records, and in October 2014 he released his personal EP, ‘Silence’, a solo drums project.
ERMIS MICHAIL | guitar
Ermis, at the age of just 26 years old and with a Master’s degree in Jazz Guitar, has won national awards and performs in various LIVE projects in Cyprus, Greece, UK & the Netherlands, while also continuing to teach guitar at the University of Nicosia.
ELIAS IOANNOU | trumpet
Elias Ioannou holds a BA in Music from Codarts University in Rotterdam with a specialisation in Jazz Trumpet. He participated three times at the North Sea jazz Festival and in master classes with several jazz players such as Barry Harris, Joshua Redman, Snarky Puppy, Aaron Parks and Amik Querra. He is based in his hometown Limassol where he currently teaches and plays trumpet for several bands.
