Living With Lady Macbeth
Living With Lady Macbeth by Rob John provides an exhilarating contemporary outlook on the Shakespearean classic, skillfully portraying the way in which theatre can allow a cathartic release for the anger and frustration so many young people carry around. A geeky, insignificant girl, becomes obsessed with achieving the role of Lady Macbeth in the school play. In her determined attempts to defy all odds, she finds a strength and power to rise above the low status imprinted upon her by her peers, branding her initial goal irrelevant to this much greater achievement.
A group of teenagers aged 12-14, members of Theatre Antidote Youth Stage, comprise the cast of this powerful performance. It is one of three Theatre Antidote productions that have been supported by a grant from Iceland Liechtenstein and Norway Through the EEA Financial Mechanism and the Norwegian Financial Mechanism this year.
