Comments by Dr Nadia Anaxagorou:
“In Margaret Paraskos’ painterly universe, rules of order, proportion and gravity do no apply, organic and inorganic forms coexist in a back ground of ochreous, water-like fluidity, where colours blur and where humans seek to define their position in a world of constant change, through a plunge into the depths of psyche. In a stance of introspection, recollection, maternal contemplation or erotic mystification, they piece together memories and experiences, in a stream of consciousness that flows in the ascending motion of seaweeds and grows up with the incessant, dynamic transformation of plants. One shape evolves out of the other, in an osmosis, which merges dream and reality, logic and imagination, in an abstract representational figuration, that leaves behind existential impasses and agonies.”
