Maria Callas, 30 years later
On Monday March 30 at 7pm, the President of the Cyprus Parliament Mr. Marios Karogian will perform the opening the exhibition "Maria Callas, 30 years later".
Organized by the Hellenic Parliament Foundation the exhibition was first presented in Athens in 2007 on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the death of Maria Callas, one of the most renowned opera singers of the 20th century.
The exhibition presents a selection of photographs from the archives of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the Greek National Theatre, the Associated Press, the Hellenic Literary and Historical Archives, the Benaki Museum in Athens, EMI Classics, the ERT Historical Archives, the Arena Theatre in Verona, as well as from private collections; books from the Library of Congress; memorabilia from the Alexander S. Onassis Public Benefit Foundation; works of art of Karolos Kambelopoulos and Aspasia Papadoperaki.
