«Mary and the White Pea: seeking the childhood truth about cancer»
Interactive workshop for adults
A workshop based on the children's book ‘Mary and the White Pea’, through which a) we initiate ourselves in the 'realities', experiences and needs of a cancer-patient child, b) we represent through drama strategies abstract concepts and complex meanings in order to reconstruct and re-define ideas, situations and emotions, c) we make use of personal development tools and tools for empathy and emotional management and finally d) we strengthen our stance towards cancer. This workshop is addressed to educators, psychologists and any other adult (18+).
Facilitator: Demetra Socratous, teacher, drama facilitator and children books writer
The workshop will be held in Greek.
Participation fee: 10 euros (dress code: casual)
