Masterpieces of Classical Music
The Russian Embassy and the Russian Cultural Center, with the support of the Tatiana Stupak Music School as part of the “Russian Theater Seasons in Cyprus” project, present a unique concert for cello and piano performed by two prominent Russian artists of the younger generation: the cellist Gleb Stepanov from the Tchaikovsky Moscow Conservatory and the graduate of Rimsky- Korsakov St. Petersburg Conservatory pianist Tatiana Stupak, living in Cyprus.
Winner of several prestigious international competitions, including the Vincenzo Vitia International Competition in Italy and the Flame International Competition in Paris, the 31-year-old cellist Gleb Stepanov already has extensive experience playing as a soloist at leading concert venues in Russia and Europe with symphony orchestras. He regularly performs at prestigious festivals around the world (Austria, Germany, Italy, France, USA, Japan, Singapore, etc.). Gleb Stepanov graduated from the Moscow Conservatory in the class of an outstanding cellist - Professor Natalia Gutman, whose name is known to connoisseurs of classical music far beyond the borders of Russia.
This year, Gleb Stepanov will come to Cyprus to join his creative efforts with one of the most talented pianists of the island, Tatyana Stupak, a graduate of the St. Petersburg Conservatory.
The winner of such prestigious competitions, as the Bach International Festival in Leipzig and the International Competition of Organ Music Performers in St. Petersburg, Tatiana Stupak has been pleasing the audience in Cyprus, Germany, Austria for several years now. She repeatedly gathered performances on the largest Cypriot scenes, including the Kourion Amphitheater, the Paticheio Theater in Limassol, and the Strovolos Municipal Theater in Nicosia. Tatiana’s activity as a teacher and philanthropist makes a significant contribution to the promotion of the best examples of Russian classical culture in Cyprus.
At the concerts in the Cyprus Wine Museum Concert Hall that is located between Limassol and Paphos and in the Russian Cultural Centre in Nicosia (April 18 and 19, respectively; the beginning of both concerts - 20:00) Gleb Stepanov and Tatyana Stupak will perform the unforgettable program “Masterpieces of Classical Music”, which will include works by Tchaikovsky , Prokofiev, Davydov and Bach.
