Meditative Acting
A program designed to introduce the artist to an alternative working approach, based on personal idiosyncrasies and self-knowledge. Techniques are derived from yoga, physical expression and Grotowski’s methodologies.
The aim of meditative acting, aside from the personal and professional development of the actor, is ‘’catharsis’’; in other words the releasing of psychological and mental ‘toxins’ through theatrical and physical expression. It also encourages the actor to develop his own techniques and means of expression, as opposed to following established methods that may not exactly match his own qualities.
