Memory Lab - Interactive exhibition via audio-visual technology
To celebrate the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018, ARTos Foundation presents Memory Lab. It is a research project that explores informal personal collections of old photographs with a social, historical and aesthetic context focusing on years between 1888 until 1990. It explores the traces of memory and subsequently highlights it and shares it with the public in the form of a short narration. The new experience is then kept as a new inspiration which evolves into various of other forms of expression - "Parasite exhibitions", interdisciplinary performances, music etc.
This part of our heritage is lost silently in old boxes, antique shops and even in the garbage. The purpose of this action is to protect, digitize and emphasize this type of cultural “goods”..
The collection will be presented at the ARTos Foundation from 19 to 29 November. Exhibition has an interactive form, where visitors can explore the history of each photo through audiovisual facilities.
Along with the exhibition there will be two visual performances inspired by the selected photos. Performances are created by Dimitra Kallitsi and Justyna Ataman and will be held in multi-space Garage [Γκαράζ].
