Inspired from the book “Dolls" by Rainer Maria Rilke, this project focuses on the relationship formed between oneself and his own body through his relation with the “other” and the “other’s body” as well as the relation between the “self” and the “other” being formed through the perception of his own body.

The body is the object and the subject at the same time, it can be both the carrier of meaning and the meaning itself, it can be spectacular or realistic, representative or symbolic and abstract. It stands between the sign and the signified, between the concept and symbol, between archetype and image.

The body presents and is being presented, expressive and being expressed. The commitment and the function of the body are multiple, complex and complicated, giving dance the privilege of polysemy.
Chloe Melidou

Chorotheatro Omada Pende was founded in 1999 in Cyprus. It has since produced 26 dancetheatre pieces, choreographic workshops, independent artistic productions and participations in the Cyprus Platform for Contemporary Dance, in the Summer Dance Festival in Cyprus (Limassol), in the European Dance Festival, as well as in festivals abroad. Chorotheatro (Dance Theater) Omada Pende is one of the founding members of The Dance House Lemesos (2007) and The New Movement of Dance Groups, Dancers and Choreographers of Cyprus (2004).

Primary members and resident choreographers and dancers of the dance company since its foundation are Roula Kleovoulou and Chloe Melidou.
