Mid Summer Visions
Under the banner Μidsummer Visions, Cytavision’s love of cinema and culture finds its expression in a series of summer screenings of award-winning and selected films by Cypriot directors, held in collaboration with the ARTos Cultural and Research Foundation.
Film buffs will have an opportunity to spend unforgettable evenings in the ARTos Foundation’s wonderful outdoor space watching films by Cypriot artists on a giant screen that guarantees a clear view to every member of the audience. Since there are no limits to the entertainment that Cytavision provides, filmgoers will also be able to meet the film-makers themselves and discuss their work with them over a drink as music plays in the background.
Throughout June and July, screenings will take place at 9.00 pm every Thursday, starting on Thursday 3 June 2010, at the ARTos Cultural and Research Foundation (63, Ag. Omologiton Avenue, Nicosia). Admission is free. For more information, please call 22-445455.

THURSDAY 3 JUNE
Screening of the cult movie Kalabush (2002), directed by Adonis Florides and Theodoros Nicolaides.
THURSDAY 10 JUNE
Tribute to Harry Mavromichalis who lives and works in New York, with screenings of four of his short films.
THURSDAY 17 JUNE
Tribute to Maria Papacharalambous with films from her 15-year career in the world of cinematic fiction.
THURSDAY 24 JUNE
Meeting with film director Ioakim Mylonas and screenings of three of his films.
THURSDAY 1 JULY
Short films by the older generation of Cypriot filmmakers: Yianna Amerikanou, Constantinos Yiallourides, Monica Nicolaidou and George Koukoumas.
THURSDAY 8 JULY
Discover the world of Greenpeace and environmental activism through the eyes of an insider. Stephen Nugent presents the Organisation’s activities in six short documentaries.
THURSDAY 15 JULY
The evening’s theme is Sexuality and features contributions from Diomides Koufteros, Achilleas Kentonis, Stephen Nugent and Nefeli Misuraca.
THURSDAY 22 JULY
Screenings of short films by new directors taking their first steps in the film world, young professionals and artists.
THURSDAY 29 JULY
Screening of the film Bar (2001) directed by Aliki Danezi-Knutsen.
