Mothers Rise Up

Our children have taken to the streets in protest, for the irrational destruction of our environment!

It’s our turn to come together to echo their voices!

On the World Mother's Day - Sunday, May 12, we will meet outside the House of Parliament at 10am to raise our voice, with all the power of our motherly love and together with our children, we will lift our stature.

We will march from the House of Parliament to the Presidential Palace and we will demand from our government to take immediate action, to make our lives fully sustainable through effective green policy decisions and actions.

We will file a memorandum, which will focus on protecting the environment in improving the quality of life, both us and our children. There will be a simple ceremony of speeches, songs and a site specific happening.

We welcome anyone who is moved by the love of their children to protest: grandmothers, aunties, child-minders and friends, those yet to have children, those who've chosen not to have children, every one of us counts! Fathers are more than welcome to come and support. Together we begin to forge a future worthy of our children.

Mothers Rise Up was launched by a group of mothers in London, who was sensitized by the global mobilization of our young people. Marches and events under the umbrella of Mothers Rise Up and other organizations will be held in other cities abroad on the same day and we will be joining our voice with them.

We wish to remain an independent, informal group of mothers, growing and spreading throughout the world, with the sole motivation of our children's love. Our effort is to raise awareness, mobilize and act for the benefit of all of us for the good of our planet.

Come mothers all over the world to save our children because "our home is burning", as Greta Thunberg, the teenager who has managed to revolutionize us in this global mobilization, has said. Our Children first!
