Musical Mosaic
Concerts by the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra
Two instruments not immediately associated with classical music feature in the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra’s June concert: the santouri and the euphonium, with soloists from Belarus and Scotland respectively, who, along with the artistic director and the members of the CySO, gift us with a “Musical Mosaic”. Works by seven composers in all, hailing from Armenia, Greece, Belarus, Italy, the UK and the US, with Italian composer Ottorino Respighi’s The Birds suite, portraying the dove, the hen, the nightingale and the cuckoo, possibly the most well-known. A “Musical Mosaic” in June then from the CySO!
