Nicosia Schools Orchestra

Nicosia Schools Orchestra was established by the Council of Ministers in November 2003, with main aims to provide opportunities for further music education and experience, to encourage students and music teachers for quality work, to develop music education and aesthetic education through music, and generally to promote the subject of music at school. The responsibility during the rehearsals and performance of the orchestra is under the baton of Conductor Mr Evagoras Karageorgis and Assistant Conductor/Instructor of woodwind and brass instruments Mr Nikos Kiliaris. The members of the orchestra are approximately 40 students aged twelve to twenty from Nicosia, coming from both public and private schools of the Secondary Education, and they play various instruments of the Symphonic Orchestra.

Nicosia Schools Orchestra has a very important role to play. During our concerts, we wish to offer unforgettable musical experiences to our members, and to bring the audience all around Cyprus together with the classical and contemporary work of Greek Cypriot, Greek, European and other composers.
