Tribute to poet Nikos Kavvadias
“A very special musical performance into alien and often mysterious seascapes through the poetry of the Greek poet, writer and seafarer Nikos Kavvadias”.
Elena Hadjiafxendi will narrate next to Andreas Papapetrou’s piano tunes, stories about the poet, the places and people he met in his trips all over the world. Images from exotic places, prostitutes, captains gone mad and memories of the war are set to “blend in to form a dreamy world full of lucid forms, part fictitious, part true.”
This musical and theatrical journey into the work of the Greek poet will see the duo present a mix of spoken word and song based on Kavvadias’ poetry, aiming to paint detailed images of a difficult life at sea and a solitary mind travelling beyond the horizon.
