O Karagkiozis
Three additional performances on 7, 9 and 11 of May.
Two additional performances on 2 and 3 of June.
Awarded as an emerging author in 2006, the actress and director Lena Kitsopoulou wrote the short stories collection "Megaloi Dromoi" in 2010. The story "O Karagiozis" will be performed on stage by Herodotos Miltiadous, and directed by Andreas Araouzos, at ARTos Foundation.
The story provides a penetrating look into childhood – which we all carry along throughout our lives, with no exceptions. The hero's path is outlined, from childhood to fatherhood, revealing wounds of the psyche, which occurred during childhood, while the apparent risk of those wounds being exposed will have devastating consequences...
This theatre-play transfers Lena Kitsopoulou's heart-breaking writing into dramatic word and enlivens the psyche of a literary hero through the actor's incarnation. Both short story and theatre-play, touch upon and illuminate certain dark roots of our personality.
The play is 50 minutes long and is not suitable for people under 15 years of age.
