Offside

Eros Ammohostos Theatre presents the comedy by the Catalan writer Sergi Belbel “Offside” in Nicosia, this October and November.

The play
When the global financial crisis spreads by affecting a wealthy middle-class family in Catalonia, its consequences and repercussions challenge the relationships amongst its members. The family’s – especially mother’s - dream fulfilment, for their daughter’s studies in the US, is in risk. The instinct of survival emerges from its lethargic state and awakens improper situations that overshadow, distort or even crush conquered values of their civilized world.

Will the murder of the grandfather, who has limited mobility and spends his life in a luxury apartment sucking up most of the family's income, solve the problem?
