Orphaned Land Live
Pitch Black Records presents the pioneers of “Oriental Metal” Orphaned Land on October 27th at Pavilion Hall in Nicosia. The concert’s opening acts will be local bands Arrayan Path and Gypsy Fears.
The truly ground-breaking musical style of Orphaned Land is distinguished by the ethnic and middle-eastern elements in their music where the band uses traditional musical instruments with which they enrich their sound creating a unique listening experience which they describe as “Oriental Metal.”
Through their 20-year career and having toured all over the world, Orphaned Land is considered one of the most important metal bands of the wider Eastern Mediterranean. They are widely recognised for their notable ability to bring together and unite music fans of different ethnicities and religions (in particular people from traditionally conflicting sides), proving in essence that there are no differences between people and that music truly unites. The band is quite well known after all for their lyrics which promote a message of peace and unity.
In 2012, fans of Orphaned Land from all over the world, came together and campaigned to collect signatures for the band to be nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize! This year, the band was awarded the prestigious Global Metal Award by renowned English magazine Metal Hammer.
